This work is in collaboration with Dr Katherine Hubbard.
With this project we are interested in the relationship between history and other social research disciplines. We are keen to develop a ‘socio-historic’ approach that draws on historical methodologies, considers the relationship between past and present, and reflects on how to influence future possibilities.
Our primary aim is to develop a historical skills ‘toolkit’ for those working in social research fields including (for example) Sociology and Psychology. This will include historiography training, archival methods, and oral history skills, as well as considerations of how to bridge epistemological incongruities between disciplines.
This work is made possible through a Surrey Research Fellowship.
