I am a social researcher based in the UK.
With this website I share my work, please have a look around for information on my research, teaching, and links to free versions of some of my publications and presentations.
My work is on areas of (sub)cultural participation, community formation, activism and political engagement, gender and sexuality. I have conducted research on LGBTIQ+ community spaces, queer and feminist punk in the UK, punk in The Netherlands, and am developing new socio-historic approaches to social research methodologies. My work has been funded by a Surrey Research Fellowship, a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship, and an AHRC Doctoral Studentship. This website contains information on all of these research projects and their outputs, including my first monograph, The Connected Lives of Dutch Punks.
I am also an activist, punk musician and DIY promoter. I have played in Not Right, Die Wrecked, and Fear & Slothing, and organised gigs as part of Revolt! and under the banner Femmington Spa Queer Fest.
